Yes, it's true!   For every 15 minutes read in the library, $1 will be taken off of fines or fees will be removed. Space Shuttle: Explore Space through Art!

Watch as a professional opera singer gives a new perspective on reading as Minnesota Opera presents an innovative program bridging traditional storytelling and music. In this program, a Teaching Artist will use songs and tools from the stage to enhance, inspire and help children engage in reading. Program that teaches kids about world cultures through a variety of skill based toys from different countries. We demonstrate and teach the history behind each of the toys. Then everyone gets to try them out as we facilitate with hands-on instructions and group games. Finally, everyone gets a chance to show off what they’ve learned through mini performances of their own. This program is made possible by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Hand Built Pottery

Experience the fun of hand built pottery. This hands-on class will teach basic techniques to making a personalized ceramic mug. Instructor will provide you with decorating ideas and discuss glazing and firing techniques. When complete, your project will be fired in a kiln and ready for pick-up in about a week.
