Skeletons in the Closet: A Bilingual Puppet Show

This bilingual puppet show is a tender story of two children remembering their grandparents who have passed away. As the children follow their curiosity, they discover the meaning of Day of the Dead and that the connection they have with their grandparents continues beyond death. The story is a celebration of love and the cycle of life. This program is made possible by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Grades K-5. Registration is not required but seating is limited.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Color Shadow Puppetry

Bowtruckles! Nifflers! Phoenixes and Merpeople! J.K. Rowling’s follow-up to the Harry Potter series is full of wild and wonderful creatures. Pick an imaginary being or make your own up, and create a color shadow puppet. Then create your own stories with friends and perform them on the shadow screen. Grades 1-6.

Nalah and the Pink Tiger Puppet Show

A puppet show based on a picture book of the same title by the artist, author and puppeteer, she drew inspiration for this story from her lively little niece. Nalah lives so intensely in her imagination that grown-ups around her view her as a troublemaker. Things come to a head when, in addition to all the exotic animals that Nalah has placed in the house, a pink tiger "follows" her home from the zoo and creates havoc.

Pre-K through Grade 5. Registration is not required, but space is limited.
