Come join some of your favorite Anoka County librarians at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts for "Family Art Sundays"!  "Family Art Sundays" are events where families of all definitions are invited to visit the Center, make art, go on an art scavenger hunt, and enjoy art together.  "Family Art Sundays" are free.  In 2017, Anoka County Library staff will lead a storytime at "Family Art Sundays" on August 13, October 15, and December 10. They take place from 1-3 pm and are open house format- drop in for 20 minutes or stay the whole time. No RSVP is necessary.

early literacy, learning readiness, executive function. In this interactive class, grown-ups are required to release their inner child as we ignite our imagination becoming cats, cows, dogs, frogs and lions all in one class!  This active class helps develop better body awareness, self-control, flexibility, and coordination. A great opportunity for adult and child to come together in a fun and healthy way! Ages 2-6.  Registration required.

Family Fun Night

Join us on the third Wednesday of the month for a literacy-based family fun night! Each program includes a story and a related craft in addition to other fun activities such as songs, games, and/or photo ops! Attend one or attend them all! Monthly themes are: September - Pirates; October - Bats; November - Hawaiian Luau; December - New Years Celebrations Around the World. 

This program is targeted at school-aged children (4-10) but parents and siblings are welcome to join as well.

You do not need to register but space and supplies are limited to the first 20 children who arrive.  Call the Mississippi Library at 763-324-1560 for more information.
